This Privacy Policy informs you about the nature, scope, and purpose of processing personal data on our website amen-app.com and within the mobile application AMEN (iOS, Android planned).

3. Data Collection on This Website

a) Server Log Files

When visiting our website, the hosting provider automatically collects information in so-called server log files. This data includes:

  • IP address (anonymized if applicable),
  • Browser type and version,
  • Operating system used,
  • Referrer URL,
  • Hostname of the accessing device,
  • Time of the server request.

Processing is carried out pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR based on our legitimate interest in the secure and stable operation of the website. The data is automatically deleted regularly.

b) Cookies

Our website uses technically necessary cookies to ensure basic functions. The legal basis for this is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

We currently do not use analysis or marketing cookies. Should this change in the future, appropriate consent will be obtained via a cookie banner (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

d) Content Delivery Networks (CDNs)

To optimize loading times, we use external Content Delivery Networks (CDNs) for libraries such as SwiperJS and Font Awesome. This may result in the processing of your IP address by the following providers:

4. Data Collection and Processing in the AMEN App (iOS)

a) General

When using our App, various personal data is processed to provide the functions.

b) Download via App Store

When downloading the App, Apple processes certain data. We have no influence over this processing. Further information can be found in Apple's Privacy Policy:

c) Registration / Profile

Registration may be required for certain functions. The following data may be processed:

  • Username
  • Email address

Purpose: Provision of personalized functions within the App.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR

d) Usage Data

We collect certain data about App usage, such as:

  • Frequency of use of certain features (e.g., daily verses, Bible passages)
  • Device type, iOS version
  • Interactions with AI Chat

Purpose: Ensuring functionality, improving the App, possibly anonymized analysis.

e) AI Model "NEMA 2.5"

Our App offers a personal conversation feature with the AI model NEMA 2.5.

Important:

  • This is a self-developed AI model that operates on our own servers.
  • No external AI such as GPT from OpenAI or similar third-party providers is used.
  • When using the chat feature, your inputs and generated responses are processed to provide meaningful answers.

Processing:

  • Inputs are stored temporarily to enable conversation context.
  • Data may be anonymized and used to improve the model (if activated and required).

Storage duration:

  • Chats are stored by default only for the duration of the active session, unless a history feature is explicitly activated.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (provision of the AI feature as part of the App)

f) AMEN Plus Subscription

When purchasing an AMEN Plus subscription, processing is handled exclusively through Apple's in-app purchase system. We do not receive direct payment data.

5. Disclosure of Data to Third Parties

Your data will only be disclosed to third parties:

  • to the extent necessary for the provision of our services (e.g., hosting providers, CDN providers),
  • when using the App to Apple (for App download and payment processing),
  • due to legal obligations.

Chat data from NEMA 2.5 is not disclosed to third parties. Processing is carried out exclusively internally.

6. Storage Duration

Your personal data will only be stored for as long as necessary for the respective purpose or as required by law.

Examples:

  • Server logs: Automatic deletion after a short time (e.g., 7 days).
  • Contact requests: Storage until complete processing + statutory retention periods.
