Terms and Conditions

Welcome to the AMEN App. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern the use of the AMEN App and all related services. Please read these terms carefully before using the app.

1. Scope and Contractual Partner

These Terms and Conditions apply to all users of the AMEN App downloaded from the Apple App Store. The contractual partner is:

By downloading, installing, or using the AMEN App, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use the app.

2. Services of the AMEN App

The AMEN App offers the following main features:

  • Bible Study Features: Access to daily verses, Bible passages, and Christian learning content
  • AI Chat "NEMA 2.5": A personal conversation feature with an AI model for spiritual conversations and questions
  • AMEN Plus: A paid subscription with enhanced features
  • Personalization: Individual settings and user experience

We reserve the right to expand, modify, or discontinue the app's features at any time. There is no claim to specific features.

3. Registration and User Account

3.1 Registration

The AMEN App can be used without registration. Registration may be required for certain features. The following information is required for registration:

  • Username
  • Email address

You are obligated to provide true, complete, and current information and to keep this data up to date. There is no claim to a specific username.

3.2 Confidentiality

You are responsible for the confidentiality of your password and account. You alone are responsible for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to inform us immediately if you become aware of any unauthorized use of your account.

3.3 Age Restriction

The app may be used from age 4. For users under 16 years of age, consent from a legal guardian is required.

4. Usage Rights

4.1 Scope of License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to use the AMEN App exclusively for personal, non-commercial purposes. The app may only be used on devices that you own or control and on which the app has been legally installed.

4.2 Restrictions

You are not permitted to:

  • copy, modify, decompile the app, or create derivative works;
  • use the app for unlawful purposes;
  • use the app in a way that impairs functionality;
  • rent, lease, or make the app available to third parties;
  • bypass or manipulate security mechanisms of the app;
  • use automated systems or software for data extraction.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the app:

  • for unlawful purposes or in a way that violates these Terms and Conditions;
  • to publish or share content that is offensive, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, violent, racist, discriminatory, or unlawful;
  • to harass, threaten, or bully other users;
  • to compromise the security of the app or gain unauthorized access;
  • to distribute viruses, Trojans, or other malicious software;
  • to upload content that infringes the rights of third parties (copyright, trademark, personality rights).

We reserve the right to remove content and/or block access to the app in case of violations.

6. AI Chat Function (NEMA 2.5)

6.1 Functionality

The AMEN App includes an AI-based conversation feature ("NEMA 2.5") that enables you to have personal conversations with an AI model. The AI provides responses based on a trained model and is intended to assist with spiritual questions, Bible study, and personal concerns.

6.2 Usage Notes

Important Notes:

  • The AI responses are generated and do not constitute theological advice or pastoral care.
  • The responses may be incorrect, incomplete, or outdated. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of the AI responses.
  • The AI does not replace professional pastoral, therapeutic, or medical advice.
  • For personal crises or pastoral needs, please contact qualified professionals or church contacts.

6.3 Data Usage

Your inputs in the AI chat are processed to generate responses. For more information about data processing, please refer to our Privacy Policy.

7. User Content

7.1 Responsibility

You are responsible for all content that you upload, share, or transmit in the app ("User Content"). You warrant that you own all necessary rights to the content and that it does not violate the rights of third parties or applicable law.

7.2 License Grant

By uploading content, you grant us a worldwide, free, non-exclusive license to use, store, reproduce, and publish this content as part of the app provision.

7.3 Monitoring

We reserve the right to review, moderate, and remove content in case of violations of these terms. However, there is no obligation to review content.

8. Intellectual Property

The AMEN App, including all content, designs, graphics, logos, features, and software, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by German and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

All rights not expressly granted herein remain reserved to us or our licensors. Reproduction, distribution, modification, or public access to the app or its content without our prior written consent is prohibited.

9. Subscriptions and Payments (AMEN Plus)

9.1 AMEN Plus Subscription

The AMEN App offers a paid subscription ("AMEN Plus") with enhanced features. The exact features and price are displayed within the app.

9.2 Payment Processing

Purchase of AMEN Plus is made through the Apple App Store (in-app purchase). Payment processing is handled exclusively by Apple. We do not receive direct payment data from you. Apple's Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy apply.

9.3 Subscription Renewal

The AMEN Plus subscription automatically renews for the same period until canceled at any time. Cancellation is managed through the app settings or App Store.

9.4 Refunds

All refund requests must be directed to Apple. The App Store return policies apply.

10. Liability

AMEN App assumes no liability for damages of any kind arising out of or in connection with the use of the app. This applies in particular to:

  • direct or indirect damages, consequential damages, or lost profits;
  • damages due to data loss or loss of use;
  • damages due to erroneous or incomplete content;
  • damages arising from the use of the AI chat function (NEMA 2.5);
  • damages arising from actions of other users or third parties;
  • damages due to technical problems, failures, or interruptions of the app.

Liability exists only in cases of intentional or grossly negligent behavior by AMEN App or its legal representatives. Statutory liability for personal injury (life, body, health) remains unaffected.

11. Warranty

The app is provided "as is". We make no warranty as to the availability, reliability, accuracy, or completeness of the app, its features, or content.

We endeavor to keep the app current and functional. Technical errors that impair use may occur. A claim for defect removal exists only within the scope of statutory warranty.

12. Privacy

The collection, processing, and use of your personal data is carried out in accordance with our Privacy Policy. By using the app, you consent to the processing of your data in accordance with the Privacy Policy.

13. Changes to Terms and Conditions

We reserve the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will be announced through publication in the app and take effect immediately, provided you continue to use the app after notification.

You will be notified of significant changes before they take effect. By continuing to use the app after changes to the terms, you are deemed to have agreed to the modified terms.

14. Termination and Blocking

14.1 Termination by You

You may terminate use of the app at any time by deleting your account and uninstalling the app. No formal termination is required.

14.2 Termination by Us

We reserve the right to block or terminate your access to the app at any time without stating reasons. In this case, you have no claim to refunds for amounts already paid.

14.3 Extraordinary Termination

We may terminate the contract immediately and block your access if you:

  • violate these Terms and Conditions;
  • share or distribute unlawful content;
  • use the app for criminal acts;
  • compromise the security or functionality of the app.

15. Availability and Technical Requirements

The app is available for iOS devices. You are responsible for providing the technical requirements (compatible device, internet connection). We do not guarantee the continuous availability of the app.

Maintenance, updates, or technical problems may result in temporary restrictions or interruptions of the app. No claim for damages exists in such cases.

16. Final Provisions

16.1 Applicable Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding the UN CISG.

16.2 Jurisdiction

If you are a merchant, legal entity under public law, or public-law special fund, the place of jurisdiction for all disputes arising from or in connection with these Terms and Conditions is our business address.

16.3 Severability

Should any provision of these Terms and Conditions be or become ineffective or unenforceable, the effectiveness of the remaining provisions shall not be affected. In place of the ineffective or unenforceable provision, an effective and enforceable provision shall apply that comes closest to the economic purpose of the ineffective or unenforceable provision.

16.4 No Assignment

You may not assign your rights under these Terms and Conditions without our prior written consent.

16.5 Entire Agreement

These Terms and Conditions constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the use of the app and replace all prior oral or written agreements.
